They Got In Through the Woof

Mary Mulligan’s home in Titusville, Fla., was burgled. “They went to my bedroom, took my jewelry box and emptied all the drawers, and there was some jewelry hidden in there,” she said. “Then they went to the dining room, into the china cabinet, which was filled. One drawer had two sets of sterling flatware and they took that.” But the family didn’t really care about those items: they “placed flyers across Central Florida” to offer a $5,000 reward for the return of their dog, which was also taken in the break-in. Beanie, a 12-year-old Yorkshire terrier, is “my baby, the love of my life for sure,” said Mary’s daughter, Courtney Mulligan. “We don’t care about what they took. We just care about her. We will give them money to get her back. We will not ask questions.” But the family didn’t have to pay out: the dog was found on the street, in Winter Haven, about 90 miles away. (RC/KCMG Orlando) ...Now they can spend that $5K on a dog that can scare off burglars.
