Through the Drinking Glass

U.S. Representative Bob Brady (D-Pa.) took another man’s water glass and drank from it — deliberately. Then he shared it with his wife. A couple of staffers also got in on the action. Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) dipped his fingers in the water; so did his wife and mother. Why? “Anything the pope touches becomes blessed,” said Brady. “I think so and no one is going to change my mind.” Yes, that was Pope Francis’s water glass, snatched by the congressman from the lectern in the U.S. House chamber after the pontiff’s speech there. Brady, who also has a glass used by President Obama, plans to pay for the glass and have it checked for fingerprints to verify that the pontiff used it. (AC/Washington Post) ...“Anything the pope touches becomes blessed”? Does that include both Francis’s gay friend and Kim Davis?
