Travel Tribulation II
When a picture of Taiwan’s new passport was circulated online pointing out a blunder, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied that the drawing on one page depicted Dulles International Airport near Washington D.C., rather than Taoyuan International in Taipei. The image is “100 per cent Taiwanese scenery,” MOFA insisted, until Agnes Chen, head of Taiwan’s Bureau of Consular Affairs, called a press conference to apologize and “take full administrative responsibility” for the gaffe — and to resign. The 200,000 passports printed with the incorrect graphic will be destroyed, and the passports will be reprinted with a new graphic.
