Treed-away
A woman went house to house in Blue Springs, Miss., trying to get help for her boyfriend, and someone called 911 for assistance. Union County Sheriff’s deputies arrived to find Shane Treadaway in the woods, hanging upside-down from a tree by a cable — without clothing. He claimed to have been there for four hours. “We had to cut some trees out of the way, set a ladder up and do some rope rescue rigging to secure the patient,” said New Albany Fire Chief Steve Coker, “get him extricated from the cables, and lowered down to the ground.” Treadaway was taken to a hospital by ambulance. “No word yet,” local news reported, “on why he was in the tree.” (RC/WTVA Tupelo) ...Mississippians know how to squirrel hunt: climb a tree and expose your nuts.Original Publication Date: 12 March 2017
