Firefighters don’t normally respond to cats stuck in trees, but in Erie, Pa., they rolled — because a woman who had climbed the tree to rescue the cat said she couldn’t get down. Firefighters needed a 28-foot ladder to rescue Tara Dennis, 21, and the cat (name and age unknown). “I love animals,” Dennis said. “I couldn’t let the cat stay up there.” She says she went up about 40 feet to get the cat and “put it in my shirt,” but couldn’t get all the way back down. A worried neighbor called 911. (RC/Erie Times-News) ...Next time just leave her up there: she’ll come down when she gets hungry.Original Publication Date: 13 July 2014
