Turkey Trot
The turkey population in Moorhead, Minn., has become a nuisance, so the City Council considered three options: get people to stop feeding them, catch them with a “rocket net”; or allow a short hunting season. They chose the “rocket net” option — using large nets deployed by “rocket cannons” — to capture 75 birds and relocate them to South Dakota. The relocation will benefit South Dakota’s turkey registration plan, so the costs will be covered by the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks agency.
