Undercover Agent
A “spy” with Germany’s BND Federal Intelligence Service “broke the rules” by getting “romantically involved” with a woman in Latvia. The obviously unnamed spy, the BND’s station chief in Riga, was recalled to Germany. The case apparently came to light because he was fired, and then claimed 400,000 euros (US$421,920) in compensation. A judge in Munich not only ruled against him, but ordered him to pay the government’s legal costs to defend the claim.
