Vacation Daze

Thanks to a viral video, a man’s encounter with a bison in Yellowstone National Park was The Talk of social media last week. The man somehow survived taunting the animal, but it wasn’t the first time — or the last — he had run-ins at National Parks during the week. First, Raymond Reinke, 55, of Pendleton, Ore., was arrested at Grand Teton National Park for “drunk and disorderly,” and released on bond. Then the car he was riding in was pulled over in Yellowstone; the ranger thought he was intoxicated, but let him go with a simple citation for not wearing his seatbelt because he was not driving. Rangers figure the bison incident happened next, and then Reinke was arrested in Glacier National Park after rangers were called to a hotel for a loud argument: Reinke was involved in that, too. By then, Reinke’s bond on the first case had been revoked, and he was returned to Yellowstone to face federal charges of harassing wildlife.
