Dr. Steven Strachan, the principal of Roosevelt (N.Y.) High School, is accused of plagiarizing his message to the Class of 2014, as printed in the school’s yearbook. Strachan claims he had permission to use the text, written by the principal of a high school in Albany, Calif. Students at Roosevelt knew something was up when they read Strachan’s message, which offers his “Congratulations to the Albany High School Class of 2013!” Strachan, who blamed the mess on a “clerical error,” confiscated the yearbooks so that they could be reprinted.
