Your Two Forms of I.D. Must Agree
When a man tried to cash a check at a bank in Westport, Conn., the teller noticed that the birth date on the man’s identification didn’t match what was listed on the account — and the account had a Fraud Alert posted on it. The man was turned away. It was a fraudulent check, the bank said later. Police were able to trace the man even though he used a fake I.D.: when he left the bank, he left his wallet behind, which included his real I.D., investigators say. Steven Digsby, 55, was arrested nearby, and charged with identity theft, criminal impersonation, attempted larceny, and other charges.
