Zion Ceiling
The new Eccles Theater in Salt Lake City, Utah, has a grand, multi-story lobby. That’s the problem: from some vantage points, the views included the beverage-preparation area — and in Utah, it’s illegal for customers to be able to see where alcoholic beverages are mixed. In restaurants, the drink-mixing area is hidden behind what are known as “Zion Curtains.” In this case, a ceiling was needed. It was installed, and the theater got its alcohol license.
