A Seat at the Table

Kim Jong Un is the first leader of North Korea to visit South Korea since the end of the Korean War in 1953. But one thing the Supreme Leader, currently thought to be 34 years old, won’t do is sit on a foreign toilet. “Rather than using a public restroom, the leader of North Korea has a personal toilet that follows him around when he travels,” says Lee Yun keol, a former member of a North Korean Guard Command unit before he left for South Korea in 2005. “The leader’s excretions contain information about his health status so they can’t be left behind.” (RC/Washington Post) ...So now you know what they meant when South Korean officials said they would “take no crap from Kim Jong Un.”
