A Sticky Situation

A shoplifter at a Walmart in Clayton, N.C., was confronted by store security, who says she had put merchandise in her purse and left the store. The woman became aggressive and ran, but police quickly found her hiding in the trunk of her own car in the parking lot. It was a 90-degree day, and they found she was “glistening” green. Melinda Reeves, 34, told officers she had dumped Mountain Dew on herself to try to cool down in the sweltering vehicle. Officers found the loot: a bottle of wine, some laundry detergent, and a “Little Mermaid” children’s toy, total value $16.83. She was arrested and booked on $2,500 bail.
