Accidental Upgrade

A woman rented a car in Cornwall, Ont., Canada. Two weeks later she returned the car she’d been driving, complaining the inside was poorly cleaned — and someone had even left a set of golf clubs in the vehicle. The manager was confused: the woman had rented a black Nissan Sentra, and was returning a black Infiniti. The two retraced her steps and found the rented Sentra still in a Walmart parking lot, where she’d gone shopping right after picking the car up. The woman called the police, who found the Infiniti had been reported stolen. The owner — who’d left his key fob in the car — had come out of Walmart to find his vehicle missing. The woman — whose rental car also used a key fob — had jumped into the wrong car and driven off. The vehicles were all returned to their rightful owners, and the Cornwall Community Police Service declared a “happy and funny ending to this story.” They did say it’s a reminder not to leave key fobs in unattended vehicles. “You never know who might take it!,” the Service’s Facebook post said.
