At Least He’s Trying to Think

A man smashed through the window at a King County Sheriff’s Office substation in Fairwood, a small community near Renton, Wash., that was unoccupied at the time. Once inside, he made himself comfortable: he parked himself in a room deputies use to write reports, put up his feet, lit a cigar, and waited. When deputies arrived, the man said he chose the substation to wait because it would be better to go to jail than “kill his roommate.” But he didn’t come empty-handed: “Fearing deputies would be mad at him for the break-in, the suspect brought along a peace offering: a fresh box of donuts,” a spokesman said. The unnamed 26-year-old man was booked into jail for malicious mischief and trespassing. The spokesman noted, “the fate of the donuts was not known.” (RC/Seattle Times) ...Would you eat a donut offered by someone who admitted being murderous?
