Back to School

Phil Mick, 11, of Auburn, Ind., didn’t want to start middle school after being bullied his last year of elementary school. His mom, Tammy, told her friend Brent Warfield about the situation. “She had told me about him getting bullied,” Warfield said. He told her, “Next year get a hold of me and we can give him an escorted ride to school.” Warfield, the manager of a motorcycle shop, put out a call for help on Facebook. On the first day of school, 50 bikers arrived with new clothes and school supplies. Then they gave Phil a ride to school — with all 50 bikers escorting him. “It gave him confidence,” Warfield said. “He goes to school happy, comes home happy.” Tammy Mick said her son was ecstatic after his special day. “I wanted to cry, it was so heartwarming,” she said. (MS/ABC) ...In every boy there’s the heart of a biker, and vice versa.
