Bending the Law
A homeowner in Port Richey, Fla., called the sheriff after seeing a woman stealing decorative concrete blocks from his front yard, which were waiting to be used in a remodeling project. When a deputy arrived, he found 42 of the $10 blocks in the woman’s car, and arrested her on a grand theft charge. Before he could get her to the jail, Julie Ann Upright, 54, claimed that while she was loading the concrete into her car, she hurt her back, and threatened to sue the homeowner for injuries sustained on his property. (RC/WFLA Tampa) ...Probably a bogus claim if she’s still Upright.Original Publication Date: 29 October 2017
