Bite Me

Dog walker Alma Cadwalader, 19, is telling her side of the story in a biting incident that happened in Castro Valley, Calif. According to her attorney, Emily Dahm, Cadwalader was walking two dogs on an off leash trail when the dogs ran up to a jogger. According to Dahm, the jogger assumed the dogs would attack and used pepper spray on them. Dahm said Cadwalader then tried to take the pepper spray away from the jogger, and bit her on the forearm in “self defense.” “It is a bad bite but I will tell you what,” Dahm said. “I would bite someone too if they were grabbing my hair, kicking me in the groin and not letting go of me.” The victim’s side of the story is different. “We have information from the victim [that she] was accosted by the dogs,” East Bay Regional Park Police Lt. Terrence Cotcher said. “The dogs may have attempted to bite her and she tried to defend herself.” Cadwalader was arrested and charged with several felonies, including false imprisonment, battery with serious bodily injury, and robbery.
