Bridging the Cat

Kirsty Howden’s cat Hatty had been missing for more than a week when the human got a phone call: someone had been sharing photos of a cat that looked like Hatty, was stuck on the Brunel Bridge near Plymouth, Devon, England. Howden went to see, and it was indeed Hatty. “I’ve called her and she’s stuck her head up and cried.” Firefighters tried to rescue the Maine Coon-Serengeti mix for roughly five hours. Plans were even made to shut down a section of track to accommodate rescue efforts in the wee hours. Then, while Howden was responding to comments, she heard a meow from outside. It was Hatty.
