It was snack time at the Kilohana United Methodist Church Preschool in Honolulu, Hawaii. A classroom assistant poured the kids some apple juice — from a cleaning cart that had no food items on it. The bottle of “juice” was clearly labeled “Pine Sol”, a concentrated cleaner with a strong odor that’s nothing like apples. After three children aged 4 and 5 sipped the liquid, “the staff responded immediately by calling EMS and police,” the school said in a statement. The children were not sickened. The statement noted staff was “undergoing mandatory training.” (RC/KHNL Honolulu) ...Because the preschool has experience teaching the basics of reading.Original Publication Date: 02 December 2018
