Dragged to School

Andrew Livingstone is the headteacher at Horatio House near Hopton on Sea, Norfolk, England. He also has a side job, but school governors knew about it. “As part of the checks the Trust explored Mr. Livingstone’s second job as the performer of a drag act,” said Andrew Forrest, chief executive of the Great Yarmouth Community Trust, which runs the school. “We do not believe that the two jobs are incompatible.” A video of Livingstone performing his somewhat explicit act as “Miss Tish Ewe” was posted on YouTube, marked as explicit to avoid accidental viewing by children, before he started at the school. When some parents later complained, the school investigated again. The Trust and Livingstone had agreed to a set of guidelines before he was hired to ensure “a separation between his two jobs.” Since the video was posted before he was at the school and Livingstone has since complied with the guidelines and the Trust’s social media policy, the Trust saw no reason to take any action.
