Cookie Monster

Before the public buys Girl Scout cookies, Scout leaders pick them up on credit and distribute them to the girls to sell; the troops pay for the cookies after they sell them. But according to Pike County, Ky., prosecutor Rick Bartley, the process didn’t get that far in the case of troop leader Leah Ann Vick, 26. “It looks like she picked up the cookies, and now she and the cookies have disappeared.” Vick has at least four different addresses, and Bartley said people have been unable to contact her. There’s a warrant out for her arrest, charging her with felony theft by unlawful taking: the cookies were worth about $15,000. (AC/Lexington News-Leader) ...But they were still not enough to sweeten the heart of a woman who would steal from Girl Scouts.
