Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding!

Investigators in Springfield, Ill., are trying to figure out why a man was so close to the railroad tracks that he was run over by a passing Amtrak train. Witnesses say he had his back to the tracks as the train approached — and was holding his cell phone up in the air. “He appeared to be doing a selfie or something to that effect,” said Springfield Police Lt. Bill Neale. “As he put his arm down, it appears it came into contact with the engine. That spun him around, and he fell down and went underneath one of the cars.” The unnamed 33-year-old man was rushed to a hospital in “critical” condition — police later brought some of his toes, which they found along the tracks. (RC/Springfield State Journal-Register) ...But hey: at least he was smiling for his last photo.
