Federal authorities say Mark Charles Barnett, 48, had a plan to make a killing on Target Department Store stock by buying when the price got low, and waiting for it to recover. But the plan turned into a crime by his impatience. His scheme, prosecutors say, was to have bombs planted on Target shelves all the way from Florida, where he lives, to New York. But the man he hired to plant the bombs turned them — and Barnett — in to the government instead, officials say. Barnett is charged as a felon in possession of a destructive device.
