Extracurricular Activities

An off-duty officer moonlighting as a security guard at a car dealership in Sugar Land, Texas, heard someone inside — no one was supposed to be there, as the dealership was closed on Sunday. He investigated and found a man inside near the finance office — carrying a crowbar. When the officer confronted the man, he dropped the crowbar and ran, and escaped in a waiting car. In addition to the crowbar, the man left behind a backpack: it contained pry bars, gloves, a mallet, bolt cutters, cutting blades — and his math homework.
