Fair Fight
A daycare in Shelton, Conn., celebrated Father’s Day by inviting the fathers of all the children to come to a party. The children made Father’s Day cards for their dads, and one of the 5-year-olds “playfully” grabbed the card that Lance Churchill, 33, got from his son, “and ran around the room with it,” according to the resulting police report. Churchill was upset: the 6-foot, 4-inch, 270-pound man chased the child down, picked him up, pinned him to the ground, and screamed at him, witnesses say. Daycare employees called the police, which Churchill welcomed: he asked them to arrest the boy for theft. “Obviously he didn’t get his way,” said Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango. Officers instead arrested Churchill, charging risk of injury to a minor, and disorderly conduct. (RC/WFSB Hartford) ...They were evenly matched: five years old in age vs. five years old in maturity.Original Publication Date: 25 June 2017
