Finally has Time to Write

Jamie Thomson, 25, held police at bay for seven hours at his flat in Kilbirnie, North Ayrshire, Scotland. He had “a number of large knives” on his windowsill, and threw at least one of them at officers. “I’ll chop your heads off!” he taunted. “Bring it on! I will kill you!” During the standoff, Thompson, who was drunk, pelted the cops with fireworks, shards of glass, cans, bottles, crockery, ice cream tubs, and a game console, and shot at them with a crossbow. A police marksman finally ended the siege by shooting Thompson, wounding him in the arm. Thomson was apparently so satisfied with how police ended the confrontation, he said he’d like to “write a letter in favor” of the police marksman. He pleaded guilty to attempted murder, and was sentenced to 9 years in prison. (RC/STV) ...Which may or may not result in a letter in favor of the judge.
