After the French government announced a crackdown on drivers using mobile phones while at the wheel, gendarmes in Laval pulled over a driver. The unnamed man wasn’t using his mobile, police report. Rather, he was enjoying a plate of foie gras on toast — while also watching a video on his laptop computer. The driver received a 750-euro (US$930) fine for “driving in a dangerous position.” Police were quick to point out the driver was a Russian national, not a Frenchman. (RC/Local France) ...Because real Frenchmen know how to liver.
