Forget Something?

Firefighters at the Portland, Maine, North Deering fire station had just started getting ready for dinner when a call came in. They had barely finished that call when they had another fire to tend to: their station was aflame, since they forgot to turn off the stove as they left. The station will be out of service for some time, and the vehicles have been assigned to other stations while repairs are made. “Firefighters are human just like everyone else and sometimes mistakes occur when in a rush,” Fire Chief David Jackson said. “We’d like to use this opportunity to remind our citizens this can happen to anyone, and it’s important to cook safely.” (MS/Portland Press Herald) ...Leaving the pot on can turn the kettle black.
