Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a suspicious fire at a convenience store in Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a suspect was still present. “Upon seeing our deputies,” says St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara, “the man put his hands behind his back and said ‘take me away’.” Richard Lloyd, 64, allegedly admitted he set the fire because he was mad at Arabs “due to what they are doing in the Middle East,” and was “doing his part for America.” He was charged with first degree arson. The store’s owners aren’t Arab or Muslim; they’re of Indian descent, the sheriff says.
