High Pressure Sales
Police in Boone, N.C., received complaints over several weeks about overly aggressive door-to-door salesmen. In one instance, a woman reported that a man pressured his way into her home, then refused to leave unless she either submitted to drug use and sexual activity — or bought a magazine subscription. The woman bought a subscription and immediately called police. Officers tracked down and arrested Jared Arnold and charged him with one felony count of common law robbery. They have also issued a warning to be cautious when dealing with door-to-door salespeople and report any suspicious activity. (MS/WCYB Bristol) ...To me, anybody selling something at my door IS suspicious!Original Publication Date: 19 February 2012
