History Repeats Itself

Porter, Ind., police responded to a report of a reckless driver who’d driven through the grass into the parking lot of a church. When officers arrived and approached the vehicle, they smelled alcohol. Driver Robert Maddex, 47, explained “he was here for an AA meeting,” the police report said. When asked if he had been drinking, “he said not today,” the report continues. “I asked when the last time was and he said yesterday.” A test revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.247 percent — more than triple the legal limit. He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. (MS/Northwest Indiana Times) ...If he takes shortcuts in AA like he does getting to the meetings, that might be why it’s not working.
