Hot Doggin’ Driver
The Brown County (Texas) Sheriff’s Office says a man ate some hot dogs in Waco, and inadvertently left one on the rear bumper of his pickup truck. When someone asked him about the dog, he realized he left it there, but instead of removing it, he put a “free hotdog” sign next to it and continued on his way. Later, in Brownwood, a sheriff’s deputy pulled him over for a traffic violation. “I get out my patrol car to get a better look at the plate,” the deputy said. “And lo and behold, there is a hot dog on the rear bumper of the vehicle, with a handwritten note saying ‘free hotdog’.” The driver couldn’t believe the hot dog was still there after over 100 miles, and instead of writing a ticket, the deputy took a picture. “Sir,” the deputy said, “it is apparent that you are a cautious driver, so you’re only gonna receive a verbal warning for your violation.” (MS/KTXS Abilene) ...If he’d left a donut he’d be arrested for attempted bribery.Original Publication Date: 07 January 2018
