How About a Bathroom for Obliviots?

“You told me last year that I could use any restroom that I wanted to use,” a student screamed at the sheriff’s deputy working as a school resource officer at the Pickens County (S.C.) Career & Technology Center. During the previous school year, the 18-year-old trans man had used a specific bathroom designated for male teachers, and after he used the regular boys’ room, a school official asked him to go back to using the faculty restroom. That’s when he confronted the officer, who denied ever telling anyone what restrooms they could use. The student cursed at her, followed her, threw a book bag at her, slammed into her office door (preventing her from closing it), and shoved her, according to a police report.
