Washington, D.C., police responded to a complaint of “an intoxicated man refusing to pay his bill” at a strip club. Police found Michael Comeau, 47, standing in the road in front of the joint. He was charged with public intoxication and possession of an open container of alcohol. The Diocese of Baton Rouge, La., released a statement about the incident — since Comeau was the principal at Holy Family Catholic school in Port Allen, and was chaperoning a student field trip to the capital. “The incident occurred when the students on the trip were in their hotel rooms for the evening under the supervision of other chaperones,” a Diocese spokesman said. “Mr. Comeau has submitted his resignation.” While an elementary school teacher, Comeau had been recognized as one of 20 outstanding teachers by USA Today, and had received the Milken Award for transforming “low-achieving students” into “high-achieving learners.” (MS/Baton Rouge Advocate, WAFB Baton Rouge) ...This seems to be a return to “low-achieving” for him.
