After being convicted of criminal mischief, Charles Folk, 40, was released from Florida’s Brevard County Jail, and needed a ride to his home in Melbourne. He hailed a taxi and told the driver he would pay with a credit card at the end of the 30 mile trip. When they arrived, Folk allegedly told the driver he couldn’t pay the $70 fare, and his sister and roommate couldn’t help either. The driver called police, and Folk was arrested and charged with petty theft, and transported back to the Brevard County Jail, where he was held on $2,000 bail.
