Ohio State University’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences installed a vending machine to benefit its “Meat Science” program. The machine, which went online just during final exams, offered slices of cooked bacon for $1 each. It was so popular it had to be restocked four or five times a day, organizers said. The temporary effort, sponsored by the Ohio Pork Council, was supplied with donations from multiple bacon companies.
