It’s the Principle
Two people in a car in New Mexico say they were chased by several people in a red pickup truck until they ran out of gas. They called 911 for help, and when State Police troopers arrived, the pursuers fled in the pickup, but troopers were able to catch up with them and detain them. After sorting everything out, Gabriel Garcia, 30, Katherine Smith, 21, and Brittney Ramirez, 28, of Carlsbad, and Aubree Pando, 22, and Cheyenne Ramirez, 24, of Artesia, were arrested on charges including kidnaping, armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a felon, concealing identity, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and interference with communications (since they took the victims’ cell phones). Their motive? The people in the other car owed them money for drugs. The total amount of the debt: $5.
