Itinerant

Police in Cottonwood, Ariz., have been looking for Alberto Saavedra Lopez, 32, a bank employee, for over a year: he allegedly stole $5,000 from the bank, and then moved away and avoided police. A warrant was issued for his arrest for felony theft. Lopez apparently missed living in Cottonwood: he applied for a job opening there — at the police department. Investigators called and invited him in to interview for the job, and arrested him when he arrived. Lopez is “out of the running for employment with the police department,” Cottonwood P.D. said. (RC/Arizona Republic) ...Darn those background checks anyway.
