May Have Been Tanked

The clerk at a convenience store in Largo, Fla., hit the silent alarm at 1:22 a.m., and sure enough the robber was still there when police arrived. Rather than burst in and perhaps provoke a violent confrontation that could endanger innocent people inside, officers simply surrounded the store and waited for the robber to come out. It took an hour, but eventually the man left, pushing a shopping cart full of stolen merchandise. The robber was wearing a mask. A scuba-diver’s mask. Police arrested Geoffrey Chad Davis, 31, who hadn’t noticed the police were waiting for him. (RC/Bradenton Herald) ...But did he have a getaway diver waiting outside?
