Mile High FBI
An off-duty FBI agent accidentally shot a man in the leg after his gun fell from its holster at a dance club, say Denver, Colo., police. “When the agent retrieved his handgun,” a police news release says, “an unintended discharge occurred.” Video footage from the club tells more of the story: a man, who police say is an FBI agent, could be seen dancing, surrounded by onlookers. He then did a backflip, and that’s when the gun flew out of his holster. It can be seen going off when he grabbed it, and he put the gun in the back of his pants and held up his hands while the onlookers watched, apparently shocked and scared. The man who was shot was hospitalized, but didn’t have life threatening injuries. The agent, whose name hasn’t been released, was taken to police headquarters and released to an FBI supervisor. Denver P.D.’s homicide unit is investigating the incident, and criminal charges, if any, will come from the Denver District Attorney’s office.
