Not Your Father’s Cadillac
The Cadillac auto brand is under fire after a casting agency issued a call for actors to be in a new “Cadillac — Real People” commercial. The casting call specified they were looking for union actors who are a “real” part of the “alt-right (neo nazi) thinkers/believers.” The “alt-right” is Newspeak for white supremacists. The casting notes claimed “This is not meant to be offensive in anyway [sic],” but rather “a beautifully artistic spot that is capturing all walks of life of America.” General Motors quickly disavowed the idea, saying it “did not authorize or approve” such a concept, and noted they were “seeking immediate answers from our creative agency, production company and any casting companies involved.” The casting agency, Cast Station, said the notice was “drafted” by an employee “who was immediately terminated for her actions.” (RC/Reuters) ...Make Racism Wrong Again.Original Publication Date: 11 December 2016
