Oh, Site!

“Contrary to popular opinion, it wasn’t an innovative way of getting national publicity,” said Wichita State University spokesman Joe Kleinsasser. “It just happened.” The city government was doing a “complete rehabilitation” of a water tower, said public works director Alan King, and a “very small part of the overall work” was painting WSU’s new logo on it. This was done using individual stencils for each letter in “Wichita State University” — or, as it briefly read, “Wichita Staty Universite” — a contractor switched the E and the Y, and photos of the error gathered attention on social media. Even the city tweeted an image, with the caption “We are ‘sory’ and will get it ‘fixted’ ‘A S I P’.” It was indeed “fixted” quickly.
