Over the Limit
Ali Borji, 39, reached out to a Ph.D. student at the University of Central Florida on Facebook to help her with her studies. Borji, an assistant professor at the university, went out on a few dates with the student before she told him their relationship needed to remain professional. According to authorities, Borji persisted — emailing, calling, and messaging her. Eventually, the student said, she was receiving over 800 messages a day from Borji. In one email he allegedly said, “You should be happy that somebody likes you this much to stalk you.” Borji has resigned from his position at the university — and was arrested on stalking charges. He allegedly didn’t deny sending the messages, and said he would apologize to the victim if he could.
