Pool Party

According to the resulting police report, Amber Schmunk was taking a plastic kiddie pool to her sister’s house in Saukville, Wisc., but there wasn’t room for it in her minivan. She put it on the roof but “had no way to strap it down so she had her [son] climb on the roof to hold it down while she drove.” When she got close to her destination, she allegedly pulled over, took the 9-year-old and pool off the roof, put the pool in the van, and pulled into her sister’s driveway, apparently putting the lie to the reason she put the pool on the roof in the first place. Police say Schmunk told them “she believed it was OK as her father let her do things like that when she was that age.” She was charged with second degree recklessly endangering safety, and faces up to ten years in prison. (MS/WITI Milwaukee) ...With the prison crowding problem, they may need to strap her to the prison roof.
