Prison Break, Minimum Security Style
Federal prison guards in Beaumont, Texas, were surprised to see Joshua Hansen, 25, outside the fence. Hansen was captured by sheriff’s deputies — as he was trying to get back into the prison. The inmate, serving time for drug offenses, had allegedly been retrieving a duffel bag that had been dropped off. The bag contained home-cooked foods, fruit, packaged snacks, alcohol, and tobacco, says Jefferson County Sheriff’s Dept. spokeswoman Crystal Holmes. Deputy Marcus McLellan said non-violent offenders and inmates on work release have walked out of the prison to get contraband “pretty much since day one.” Hansen was charged with escape and possession of marijuana.
