Really Out There
Bettina Rodriguez Aguilera, 59, says when she was 7 years old, three space aliens picked her up and took her to their space ship. They were blond and “big-bodied beings” — two females and one male — and have “communicated telepathically” with her several times since. Rodriguez Aguilera has freely given details of her experiences in TV interviews, revealing that the aliens mentioned “Isis” — though she didn’t say whether they were referring to the Egyptian goddess or the so-called Islamic State, that there are 30,000 skulls “different from humans” in a cave on the island of Malta, and that the Coral Castle, a Miami, Fla., tourist attraction, is actually “an ancient Egyptian pyramid.” Wait, Miami? Yes, Rodriguez Aguilera not only lives there, but she is seeking the Republican nomination for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. “Miami politics are unusual,” said Miami Spanish-language political commentator Rick Yabor. “This one takes it to a new level.” (RC/Miami Herald) ...Yeah: somewhere beyond the orbit of Pluto.Story Update: The Miami Herald actually endorsed Rodriguez-Aguilera, but she lost in the primary, coming in sixth with just 4.3 percent of the vote.
