The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, the statewide police force, has filed charges against a local police officer. Officer Marshall Lee Hardin II, 41, of Camden P.D., SLED alleges, was parked in Woodward Park in his patrol car watching “adult” entertainment on his personal cell phone while on duty. Aroused, Hardin “performed a sex act on himself in his car and in a nearby public restroom,” exposing himself in the process. The humiliated officer resigned the next day, but he has been charged with misconduct in office and faces up to 10 years in prison. “The affidavit did not indicate how Hardin’s alleged actions became known to law enforcement,” the report notes.
