According to police, Gary Anderson, 68, crashed into a Haines City, Fla., police cruiser. The crash caused only mild damage to the cruiser, and officers said Anderson pointed that out — and explained that he was drunk. Indeed, Anderson failed a field sobriety test; a blood test showed his alcohol level was over three times the legal limit, and cocaine was also detected. Anderson’s license has been suspended since 1978, and he had two previous drunk driving convictions. He was arrested and his vehicle — a riding lawnmower — was towed, along with the attached trailer with a cooler on it.
