Slow Train to Georgia
Federal Customs and Border Protection agents were checking cargo from Mexico at the Greater Cincinnati, Ohio, cargo facility. They X-rayed a package labeled “Mexican stone crafts” that was headed to Lawrenceville, Ga. Inside the package was a stone statue of a snail; suspicious agents drilled into the statue and found white powder that tested positive for methamphetamine. “This particular interception and its unique concealment method showcases the consistency with which our officers and specialists are able to support legitimate trade while interrupting illegal drug trafficking attempts,” CBP Cincinnati Port Director Richard Gillespie said.
